Set within the quiet greenery of Fig Tree Pocket, this project began with a modest brick home long described as a “fantastic fixer-upper.” Solidly built and positioned on a generous block, the existing dwelling offers strong fundamentals but no longer reflects contemporary living or modern architectural language.
Now in the planning stage, the project is being developed in close collaboration with the owner to reimagine the property as a refined, modern residence. The proposed design introduces calm horizontal lines, a restrained material palette, and a carefully composed street presence. Stone, mineral render, and warm timber accents are intended to bring texture and depth, while the overall form remains deliberately simple and balanced.
Once realised, the transformation aims to demonstrate how an ageing suburban house can evolve into a sophisticated contemporary home while remaining in harmony with the character of Fig Tree Pocket.
